  • Matrox G200 & Rainbow Runner G-Series Driver

I'm all along using Millenium G200 and had recently bought the RR-G. Since I'm using driver 5.51 got G200, I remove it and install 5.41 together with 1.51 for RR-G. It went successful until I re-booted and running the Quick Connect, the testing of the Tv-Tunner & Video Input hang my system. Ctrl-Alt-Del didn't work and have the press the reset button. Does anyone have this problem too?

I then remove all the Matrox drivers again and install the 4.33 for G200 and 1.21 for RR-G (from the CD-ROM) and everything works fine.

How do I make use of the latest driver? I don't want to get stuck at 4.33 for G200 as my games and some other programs needs 5.XX drivers.

    My Configuration:
    CPU : Athlon 600@700
    RAM : 256MB PC100
    M/B : Asus K7M
    O/S : Win98SE

Sorry, I'm using 5.41 & 1.52. Anyway, I've solved the problem. Basically I only need to install DirectX 7.0a & set my Sound Blaster 16 to enable Duplex. I tried several times to disable duplex and is confirmed that this causes the hanging. Because I reformat the HDD and install from fresh, I got the same hanging with Duplex without the DirectX 7.0a (I'm not sure whether the other DirectX version will work too). Did anywhere is the web anyone mentioned this?
