Yes it can open Matrox MJPEG files however some people have had problems with the G400-TV and Premiere. There was a Topic going not too long ago about it, try searching for G400 and Premiere.

However I have a G400-TV and and using Premiere 5.1 with great sucess and I am very pleased with its performance.

      Tinnes,

Does Premiere let you play back a project to your TV straight from the timeline? I've been trying to figure out if the G400-TV lets you do this.

      Thanks,
      Vince

I don't know. The only TV in my house with a SCART socket is downstairs and so I don't use TV out much.

I just pop in my MJPEG clips cut them up, add some filters, deinterlace, resize and export as Mpeg-1 with the Panasonic Plug-in. Thats all I need Premiere to do.

          Hi!

Yes, you can use the cutlist feature with Premiere 5.1c!

Edit your movie, apply as many FX and transitions as you like, and render a preview
(same resolution as source files). it will only render the changes and uses your source
          clips for the other parts.

However, there is one limitation: The movie plays back jerky in premiere's monitor window and your TV/VCR. subsequently you will have to export your finished project to an avi file, but this will take only a few secs, since premiere uses the already rendered portions of your clips.

as long as your final movie does not exceed windows' 2GB limitation, you can easily use premiere. I don't mind if the preview looks a bit jerky during work process. your final avi plays back @25fps (30 for NTSC).

          Have fun
