APEX now #1 deck in the US market.....

Seems APEX is now the #1 deck in the US with a 30% market share. They displayed Sony, which previously had a 40% share, when last years numbers came out.

I think the writer missed one key factor about why this ocurred. Price is certainly a major one, but I think the APEX decks ability to play so many formats...and that they are adding to the list with WMA/WMV/HDCD...has a LOT to do with it as well.

Yep... the price is right on those, too.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw one in a local department store selling for $99... the AD-1500, as I recall.

AD-1500 has gotten as low as $79.95 around here.

I've one. Glitches about 7-8 times per hour on my DVD-R tests :-(
