  • G400MAX + Rainbow Runner (WinXP??)

    Hi all,

I would like to know if anyone has had any success in running a G400 (MAX) with a Rainbow Runner G-Series in Windows XP. I am currently using Windows 2000 SP2 with the last official drivers and video tools released by Matrox.

I desparately want to upgrade to Windows XP, but I really need the TV Tuner, ie. I live in student accommodation and I don't have TV just my computer with a 19i monitor so its a perfect substitute for a TV. I don't care about not being able to record anything, because I can't do that now. (stupid Matrox!)

I wanna know if I can install these drivers and video tools in WinXP and it'll work... or whether I should use another version of Video Tools and Drivers for another card or something... I appreciate any replies... Thanks

I got the drivers and video tools to install correctly on XP by using the files here: http://home.planet.nl/~editor/website1007.htm
(There was a thread on this a few months back, but I don't readily have the link. thanks to whoever provided this)

I don't use the tv tuner, but it should work with the above setup. Just be sure you follow the exact instructions.

If by chance you do want to do some capturing w/ avi_io or virtualdub, etc....search the archives for yuy2w2k. Use that to enable yuy2/mjpeg before each capture.

      Hi

The link is correct: you´ll be directed to my homepage, where you can find the Wise Installer Version of the vidtools. Follow the instructions carefully and enjoy.

Well this thread just helped me, installed as directed. but now I have a weird problem.. the RRG won't accept a composite input, Antenna is fine.

        Any suggestions would be great..

G400 16mb, Australian RRG, stuck in an NTSC world.
the Camcorder is PAL. The old vcr I have to use atm is an australian one I brought with me, but its painful to use as I need to run a power adaptor.

        Is my composite dead or???

        Any sugestions would be great
