Good question.
Didn’t you observe that the minority of the “Big Brothers” here, who own the not yet released MSP7 have newer HW in their boxes? They can't answer to you...
The majority of us who try to not upgrade the HW/SW every week can’t answer to your (and the majorities) question neither.
We hope that the new MSP7.0 will preview to TV through the “obsolete” Marvel G400 or 450’s ( oh, my poor naive...).
But I think it is a question of the Windows vs. Matrox compatibility not an MSP question.
Correct me if I misunderstood you.
And sorry, my intention is not to hurt anybody. I am just frustrated...

Actually those of us with MSPro7 can answer most all questions since Ulead's given us permission to do so.
MSPro7 will be able to preview the timeline, scrubs and effect preview windows to a Dual Head capable cards analog output. In fact a "Dual Head" device is specifically supported in all the preview setups and Ulead worked with Matrox to get it working.
Have a look;
I've shown the preview playback options dialog on the Overlay Options page, but it's also there for Video Filters, Transitions, Moving Paths, Titler etc.
This ability to show previews on an analog device is very valuable for using effects like color correction since it lets you see exactly what you will be getting on a TV when you set them up. Same goes for setting up the Titler.

Inconsistant results in getting the various preview functions from MSPro 6.x to DualHead cards was mostly a Ulead issue. All the recent drivers for these cards use DirectShow for video overlays, which is necessary for getting DVDMAX output.
MSPro 6.x used Video for Windows for some preview functions and DirectShow for others, which caused a bit of schizophrenic behavior as far as getting output to DVDMAX.
Ex: smart-rendered timeline previews would go out but scrubs wouldn't. Neither would Instant Previews.
In MSPro 7 things got straightened out and then some.
Adobe has yet to fix the overlay issues in Premiere.

I can add something here: one can also preview via a "DV Camcorder" output. This works fine with such "black boxes" as the Canopus ADVC-100 and allows me to adjust filters etc to the right gamma for a TV set. Although I mostly use single head with my G-550, it does mean that I can have dual-head, when I need it, AND a TV monitor!
One thing I have noticed with my rig, which is not ultra-performing (P4 1.6 GHz), is that, if I choose "DV Camcorder and Preview window" (as opposed to "DVCamcorder" alone), it gives priority to the camcorder output, which still plays fine, but the Preview window plays in about 1/4 second jerks.
This feature is, for me, GREAT and I'm sure others with DV>analogue bridges will find it likewise.Brian (the devil incarnate)

This IS good news. Right now, I am editing a project that was shot with two different non-digital cameras. The footage of one looks pretty good, color correction would only detract. The other needs some saturation, a little brightness, gamma correction, etc... to make it look better, and more like the other camera.
Since this footage was captured huffyuv format I have to make the project settings DV, and let MS Pro build the preview file. To see the preview on a TV I had to run it through my dv cam.
I couldn't get my g450etv to preview this huffyuv project from ANY window, preview or source in MS Pro? Is this because of the huffyuv codec? What preview function/codecs would work with my system?
Will dual head previews in MS Pro 7 only function with specific codecs, ie dv?
