  • Marvel G400 and Win2k Video capture problem

    Hi,
I have a problem with Matrox PC-VCR. It's basicly not working at all. I'm using windows2000 with Beta drivers and video tools. It gives me this message....

"Matrox video editing hardware is currently not available. Another program may be using your Matrox video eding harware or there may not be enough graphics memory available"

    I have tried the following:
    -Restarting the computer
-i dont have any program running @ the time
-changing display resolution and color palette
    -reinstalled the software after uninstalling
-removed the card and reinstalled it back in to the AGP slot.
-disconnect and reconnect the Marvel BOX

Please let me know what to do.

My other question is (if i get the card working on win2k ):

Is there any onter way to capture video using Windows2000 and Marvel G400? I have tried to get them to work, no luck. Please let me know what to do. Please.

Any other software's that I may be able to use to capture video.

    Thank YOu
    Vithy

The drivers are beta, allthough they should be called alpha, if they work you will get a blurry picture. For now you will have to use Win9x/ME.

        Hi

Using same as yourselves and find that I can capture in PCVCR,AVI_IO,VIRTUALDUB,VIDCAP32 as well as MSP6 capture .

Are you running W2K Prof version 2195?
Any other system specs you can give us?

I do agree with the blurry pictures from BOB output while using Matrox Mjpeg - I am capturing in Matrox MJPEG, edit in MSP6 and then recompress in Morgan Mjpeg - the results through BOB output is then very good - this hopefully only untill the non Beta drivers are out. Cant use RGB captures as drivers are screwed-up totally as far as that is concerned. (I can actually capture with NO frame drops but you get about a 83% video speed runaway causing useless captures)

I would start by pulling the Creative DVD decoder and the Usb cam from the system, remove any drivers for those and the G400, and then reinstall the Marvel drivers.

I could also suggest posting your hassle on the Matrox forum under Video editing - Haig,Saad,Daniel and Alex seem to be bending over backwards to try and help - If they cant help then at at least the particular hardware combination incompatibility can be sent on to the developers.
