Does the PCVCR Soft check the processor speed? Because on one comp clocked at 1700+ the 704x576 option is available and on another clocked at 800Mhz it is not? Do i need to upgrade the processor on the 800er to be able to use the full frame size?

hi lippi23,I own a G450eTV,on my preceeding setup the pros was
clocked at 800MHz and just like you I could only reach "HalfD1"res,that's to say 352X576;now with a P4 running at 2.4Gigs no prob.!I think you are right thinking there is a kind
of speed check and as the compression being soft it 's wise!

I was able to run a G-200 Marvel on a PIII 450 MHz machine at 704 x 576 with almost no drops. I had 512 Mb memory and that may be more important than CPU speed, or a combination of them.

I believe that but the soft of the etv wont let me capture at a higher setting than 352x576 (and that sucks). So no other choice, because i dont want to upgrade the cpu.

btw: i have 512mb of ram

I didn't realize G450etv only used a soft codec. PCVCR with the g400tv allows me to capture full screen PAL (no drops) as it appears to only check the Hard Drive performance. I'm using a Seagate Barracuda 80GB 7200rpm 100UDMA with a 700 Duron.

In fact following Dr Mordrid with a MSP capture I've overclocked my G400 to full screen PAL 4.9:1 viz. 3.84MB/s which for analog is as good as Digital (improved quality/speed with no frame drops)
