AVID Media Composer Adrenalin
today our Uni installed one of my dream editing suiets.... for those of you who dont know what an AVID Media Composer Adrenalin is chek out http://www.avid.com
i am in love is all i can say.... HP workstaion dual xeon 2.8GHz 1gb DDR-Ram (not sure what type coulnt check it) dual 21'' monitors CRT... not sure what the GFX card is but it aint a matrox
its probably an ATI or a 3dLABs card...... any way win2k and a disk ary of scasi drives from avid... couldnt check the size either... just had 2 minuts on the system and other things where more worth looking out then these specks.... the adrenalin BOB is one hell of HW part... conects to the PC through IEEE1394 ..... it is simply amazing........ now the uni has braging rights
..... but i have a bone to pick with them.... AVID IS an important system for our filed... but for $55K they could have gotten 4 souped up Avid epress pro systems and solved the conjestion problem we have in the studios...... no forward thinking..... especialy since all the work done here is in dv format..... no need for an MC.....
oh well... since i am a privilaged staff member and alumus at mu Uni.... i get to play around with it any time i want..... especialy since i know this system better than the proffesor who is going to use it to teach his class... (hay the man calls me when ever he wants to edit something...)
