Nice to hear that those of you with Marvels are having good luck with the new drivers. However, I keep getting blue screens with my G400/RRG combo. Everything looks fine, until I click finish on QuickConnect. Then BSOD in RR2Vbi.sys every time. Any suggestions?

Michel, would you mind passing along the changes you did to the install.inf file?

Just read the news post over on MatroxUsers.com The 5.34 display drivers installed with no problem on my G400 16meg.
When I tried the new video tools with the 5.33 drivers, it couldn't detect any capture hardware. With 5.34 it blue screens (see above post). Haven't tried the 5.51 display drivers yet, but being they are almost half the size of the 5.33/5.34 drivers, I don't think they'd work. Looks like I may be still waiting for Win2000 drivers again.

Well, I installed the 1.55VT drivers on PD 5.41 with my G200TV Marvel on Windows98SE. Things seem to be working ok. I don't have time to give them a workout, but the basics are there.

avi_io doesn't show the YUV option, but I didn't try the Flying Dutchman patch either. Anyone try this yet?

Anyone notice all the files are dated 6/7/00?

        from readme:

        * didn't get to try this yet...

        - Support in Matrox PC-VCR Remote for recording more than 2 GB of video
by automatically creating new video files (video file names are
        enumerated)

*couldn't find the option for this - can anyone point me in the right direction...?

        - PC-VCR Remote option to view full-screen "TV", "LINE" or MJPEG
        video with more detail

I use 5.33 with beta 2. Some graphical glitches here and there in menus but so far no big problems. More then in b&w and other new games there is some not so funny problems.

            Ok

I unistalled the old drivers on my machine and installed the new 5.34 and vt2.02e.

My machine is running win2k pro with sp1 installed. Have a Marvel G200 installed with DVD addon card( which has never worked). After initial installation the system would hang when accessing the PC-VCR. had this prob with the old drivers as well. re-installed Diretcx 8a again and this solved the hanging issue.

Now when I access the PC-VCR it opens, but it will not detect my input source......
I have tried the quick connect and it too does not detect the input source.

Anyone have any ideas? Should I use the old drivers with the new Video tools?

Any suggestion will be greatly apreciated.

              flee,
Have you tried uninstalling the drivers, putting directx 8 on, then installing the drivers? Could be that DX8 overwrites a file. I too have had no luck with the new drivers, but am running DX7 still (since I don't game, no reason to upgrade). I'd be curious to if the upgrade could get them to work.

                John,
Sorry for not answering sooner, somehow I could not post a reply for the last few hours.
If it is still of any help, here is how to modify the install.inf file of rel. 5.34.013 under W2K, so that the drivers are installed for a Marvel G400:
                - In the [Mfg.Matrox] section, add the following line:
                %Str20%%ENG%=IN11.ENG,PCI\VEN_102B&DEV_0525&SUBSYS _3693102B
                - Then, in the [Strings] section, add:
                Str20 = "Matrox Marvel G400 AGP"

I added the first line after the last of the G400 - English entries and the second line just after the other Strxx entries. But that's just to follow the original organization of the install.inf file, anywhere in the above mentionned sections works equally well.
That's all there is, just run setup and it will detect the Marvel G400.
                Michka
I am watching the TV and it's worthless.
If I switch it on it is even worse.

                  @gibverse

For me it's the same problem with W2K, Quick connects finishes and so does my W2K (same bluescreen as yours). :-(

Well, for me Quickconnect does not crash, but Autoscan finds only the first 5 or 6 channels and then tells me that it cannot scan all channels. I think it stops scanning when it finds a channel with no signal. After that, Quickconnect finishes normally. Autoscan works OK in PC-VCR however and finds all the channels.

Tried re-install of drivers and still the same thing happens. System hangs if I do not re-install directx 8a after driver install and quick connect says something about not having a TV tuner and then it won't continue detect my connected video device....

                      Anyone having any better luck?

mad99: Do you have a Marvel or a RRG? I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it not working.

Michka: Quickconnect finds all the proper channels over here. Maybe it is a PAL issue?

flee: Can you elaborate on what "system hangs" means? Are you getting a blue screen, or is it just freezing?

The New win2k vidtool are not working :-(
Tried the new display driver and the old display driver, no positive result at all.

                          System:
Matrox Marvel G200 PAL (without tv)
                          Win2k
                          Directx 8a

I use a G400DH with RRG. Quickscan finds some channels, displays them in the small preview and when I press finish, I get the blue screen.

Btw, I live in Germany, so I have a PAL system.

Same thing for me. I'm in the US, so it isn't a PAL/NTSC issue apparently.

Reading the above posts, it appears only those with Marvels are having luck with these drivers. Guess I’m stuck waiting till May.
