Can you be more specific on what information you need?

If this doesn't work, post up some system specs and I am sure we can get this squared.

Glad to say that won't be necessary. It all works fine now. Turns out all I had to do was check overwrite settings and performance in the installation of the driver. Looks like your precious uninstall doesn't clean up the registry.

        What a dumb error.

Mmmk... Thought that was it.. PowerDVD plays fine until I turn on DualHead DVDMax to watch the mpeg on my TV... Well at least the problem is isolated to the DualHead DVDMax feature now.

First of all, if that made any difference, then you didn't perform the uninstall for the latest drivers and the previous drivers. You must do both or there will be leftovers.

Each uninstaller is made for that particular driver version and should be used before installing new drivers. This is universal across all video cards under 2K and XP.

Look in your PowerDVD settings and make sure that overlay is enabled.

First of all, PowerDVD(4.0) BSODs when I try to go to Configuration if I have DualHead DVDMax enabled. Second, I can't find any "overlay" option anywhere, not even under the advanced sections.

God, you're so pissy. Learn a little politeness, and you'll get a lot more help.

You could use some of that yourself Wombat, mocking people like you do is everything but polite you know. Every post you have made in my thread has been mockery, you have not come up with a single advice for me, please leave this thread kkthx.

Rags, thanks for trying to help me out with this problem, I appreciate it.

                      1. Don't tell anyone to stop posting in any thread. If you have a problem with another then report it to a moderator and they will take corrective action as they deem appropriate.
                      2. Since you feel you've been mocked... if the shoe doesn't fit then don't wear it (Cinderella).
                      3. Be polite and heed those whom have given the advice.

This last point especially hold true because you have repeatedly ignored what has been said todo. Blamed the problems on your inability to uninstall drivers properly and then ridiculed Matrox (drivers). Ignored requests as to the details of what all your setup consists of. Started out on the wrong foot by inaccurately blaiming the problem on what is not the cause of it and lastly whined that you would be replacing your card because it doesn't suit your needs in an attempt to obfuscate all the other problems you've caused yourself.

Now is not the time to be spiteful, jump on what you think is a bandwagon and heckle Avron. I posted what I have only as helpful criticism.

I know all of this must be frustrating for Avron to resolve and dispite his oops's still has problems that we should be able to resolve.

A good example to get new problems with new HW/SW is the Win XP.
Everybody love XP, at least they say that, but nobody tells about the trouble with a new OS. Before or later it’ll work, but sometimes the way is too long and painful.
Exactly the same with new hardware. A new graphic/video card is not an exception.
I prefer my old trusty Marvel G400-TV. I know this card. I know its limitations. I like it. (A mother always loves her child even if her child is sick)
And I try to fall in love with Win XP too. I try…
