This one has me so excited I might even spring for one to put in the 3D workstation.

It would be replacing a 3D Labs Oxygen GVX1 Pro. No shabby OpenGL card in itself.

A year ago I would have been excited, because of the Marvel possibilities, but since they pulled out of the low end video editing this only sounds mildly interesting. Who am I kidding I don't have enough to upgrade my Marvel G200, how could I afford this new one?

I guess that even us BBz won't be able hold it very long ...

what if it spanks the GF5?

    just kidding.

if it can satisfy me (as a gamer) for 2 years, i might consider it.

    I won't care if it cost 500$!

If it is all VigilAnt says it will be and it will have a comparable life span to the G400 (It is still usuable as a gamin card!) I'm all for it!

Count yourself out then. This is no toy card, and you will have to pay to get it. Full featured, full software support, high quality, high speed. This is a return to form for Matrox. It's high time they bowed out of the wannabe consumer cards and put forth their best hardware.

    7. It will be expensive. Of course I have no exact dollar amounts, but I am fairly confident in saying Parhelia will be more expensive than current high end cards, but with good cause. It offers much more than anything else on the market.
    11. If you want one and can afford it, you should be happy this summer.

So long as it is $300 and under and offers performance that is worth the pricetag, I'll definitely buy.

Price will not drop much, Matrox cards tend not to, unless it's a stock clearance or a used item.

I guess I should bulk up now, before I try to hold it in and get a colostomy. One thing I dont like about the post, they say its going to be monster expensive. I really dont like that idea. The G400MAX came out msrp at $250.00 usd, and if its that much better i hope the price range will be under $300, otherwise I might have to do something I have never done with Matrox, "settle" for one of their lower end cards, or wait it out until the price drops.

I really really dont want to do that.
