    From Disk Management help file:
For step-by-step procedures on how to create, break, or repair a mirrored volume, or to add a volume to or remove a volume from an existing mirrored volume, see Manage mirrored volumes.
It also can do RAID-5 (sort of).

"Sort of" is the key word there.

NT4 workstation and win2k Pro can do striping and spanned hd.
To use mirroring or RAID-5, you need SERVER.
As for winxp, I don't know, but I don't think you can do mirroring or raid-5 here either...

          That's two words

It is there. I had to add a drive to an Emachine to make a really low end server (*Chuckles about turning an Emachine into a server.* ) and it happened to be the same exact kind as the one already in there. WHen I tried to give the HD a drive letter, it gave me the option to Raid the drive. The new drive had no info on it though before I did this.

              From MS KB Article# Q2934200

              SUMMARY

In the Disk Management snap-in, if you right-click a simple volume on a dynamic disk, the Add Mirror option is unavailable; you cannot create a software mirror in Windows 2000 Professional.

              MORE INFORMATION

Creating a fault-tolerant (FT) sets, such as a mirrored set or a redundant array of independent disks (RAID) Level 5 (also known as striped with parity) volume, is not available on computers running Windows 2000 Professional. This option is available only in Windows 2000 Server products. However, you can use a computer that is running Windows 2000 Professional to create mirrored volumes on a remote computer that is running Windows 2000 Server.
This should ALWAYS be your first place you look:
Yes I drive a 13yr old Volkswagen; Yes I'm a dirt poor college student; Yes every tank of gas is more $$ than the value of my car, but it is FUN to drive, so I don't care about your ego or how much your car cost, if you insist on going the exact same speed in the passing lane as the car next to you for 10 minutes, stop being a self righteous ass, move the hell over and just let me by!!!
