I see it's used to show who replied, and how many times. If you look at the main list, click the number in "Replies" it produces a JS popup.

How much can you change in vB Ant? I'd think this could be done server side (just don't ask me to do it ), or can you switch this feature off? It's cool, but I for one don't use it. Anyone else?

Sorry but I'm, not going to disable features to fix what is in effect a bug in Opera.

I understand that, but why say there´s no Javascript if there is?

I don't think that's the problem, either, since disabling JavaScript in Opera doesn't change anything

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Ant anyway.

I glanced through the code, and there's no funny stuff that looks like it would cause a trip up in a browser. Go kick Opera's ass - especially if you've registered it

Who am I? I'm not nearly as rich as Bill Gates, not even that Novell guy

I think murc is badly coded. It should be a minimum requirement to see to it that at least the most common browsers work without troubles with your site.
Done. IE, Netscape 4.7x, Mozilla (the latter on Windows and Unix). That's the overwhelming majority of HTML clients out there. Opera has a very very small percentage of the business. If Opera wants to make money off of their browser, they should make sure it works. If Gecko can handle it just fine, its highly likely that Opera just has issues.

There do seem to be a couple open tags though: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...1+Transitional

They are working on it. The betas were flying out for v6. It's gotten TONS better since v4. And they're gaining enought market share that they've gotten MS's eye.

With regards to standards, Opera does try very hard to be standards compliant, certainly much more so than IE. There are some bugs with CSS that I'm aware of, and certainly many I'm not. However, in daily use I find that it renders 98% of pages fine. The other 2% are usually poorly coded (i.e. microsoft.com )

IE crashes on me more than Opera, and Opera is much faster (except where I have to go load the page in IE )

Perhaps a bit late to respond, but anyway...

Last week, I also started having similar loading-problems on this forum. And today, all of a sudden all problems seem to have vanished (I have cleared cache/cookies, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it).
The strange thing is that it occurs sometimes: you can go out for months and not have any problems, and suddenly they are there without having changed anything. And mysteriously enough, this is the only forum I have experienced to behave in such a manner...

What Opera-versions are you using ?
                      (I'm running 6.0 on W2000 SP2)

Oh, Xortam, meant Oracle, not Novell... Larry Ellison I meant - the guy who once had a race with Bill Gates for the title of the richest man of the world..

Now I'm using 6.04 on XP. I'm new to the forums, so I don't think I've trying any other versions on here yet. Maybe 6.03 or the 6.04 beta.
