    Ok, since no one talked me out of it I ordered the DSC-F717 today along with UV,Polarizing filters and an extra 128M memory stick

        Here it is. Maybe not the best motif but I couldn't think of anything better.

        Anyway here's the Jpeg shot. I took in 1024x768.

        Sadly I can't attach a tiff file, any help would be appreiciated!

            I tried to attach a cropped tiff file but it wasn't possible.

                  Ah Olympus... the Nokia of digital cameras...

                  I have the Olympus Camedia C-300Zoom, too. Great P&S device, but that's it.
                  Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

                    Here are two example shots from my camera - the Minolta Dimage 7i (direct competitor to the F717).

                    (Both are 2560x1920, JPEG Fine, ISO 100, Full Auto, Flash, totally untouched. EXIF info is present, if it interests you)

                            Here's one I'm particularly proud of from my old Canon S30.



                            It was taken in Parry Sound, ON, and the subject is my ex-girlfriend's cousin.

                              I've had my Sony DSC-F717 now for a few days. I also got some filters: UV, Circular Polarizer and a Tiffen Enhancing filter to bring out the reds and greens.

                              The first pic is without any filter.



                              This one is with the Enhancing filter.


                              These were cropped from the originals taken in the auto/macro mode.

                              Boy, there is a plethera of filters and lenses available on ebay.
