TI ? I thought that was Texas Instruments... Don't you mean TB (Turtle Beach) ?

Burr Brown is from Analog Devices, which belongs to TI, AFAIK.

I think either Terratec or M-Audio have a soundcard with Burr Brown DACs - but honestly, I don't know.

If you have a good DAT/MiniDisc/DCC deck, connect the PC's digital out to the deck's digital in, and use its DACs.

Last I heard, that solution only sort of worked.

As for Cirrus Logic... their chipsets are fine, unless of course you want to play games by Bioware.

I'm troubled by Cirrus' failure to ever address that sound corruption issue.

TI = Texas Intruments. They bought Burr-Brown, who make some of the best DAC and amp chips there are. Very good stuff.

AFAIK I read somewhere that the Terratec 6Fire 24/96 does have AnalogDevices DACs. I just can't seem to find where...

I checked out some other parts of M-Audio's website, and they have a ton of 'professional grade' PC audio products. Check some of these out:

Audiophile USB

USB Audio Duo - external high-fidelity recording box.

USB Quattro - every DJ's dream PC device.

Audiophile Sound Card

There are some others. If only their higher-end stuff had DirectX drivers.

Be sure to check out terratec and, if you need cheap and good studio stuff, hoontech.

Terratec make everything from cheapo soundcards to serious studio gear. Dunno which cards have DirectX drivers, but their site should have the info.

Hoontech have also recently ventured into the consumer market.

I just gotta say my Revo hasn't given me many problems except for a few driver bugs which M-Audio has already stated they will fix with their next driver release (my only one is when watching TV on my AIW, line in audio doesn't work unless the Revo control panel is open). For games....well just have a bad ass system to match with it and you won't have any problems in that department.
