Rambus has a lot in common with AGP, I suspect that if Rambus becomes standard, the rallying cry will be Rambus 2X is the answer or Rambus 4x is the answer.

Kinda funny huh...I just received my VC820 with 128m of RDRAM today.

I ran some tests with my old SE440BX-2 and 256m of Crucial CL2 PC133 SDRAM and also with 256m PC100 CL3 SDRAM vs VC820 and 128m PC800 RDRAM. I only ran 3D Mark 2000 but here are the results:

        SE440BX-2 with 256m PC133 - 2612
        SE440BX-2 with 256m PC100 - 2603
        VC820 with 128m RDRAM - 2629

The BX system had a Promise ATA66 controller and Sound Blaster Live every thing else is the same.

My Max is finally running at 4x AGP for whatever that means. System seems slightly faster. Who knows

Looks like Intel stepped into another pile of elephant dung....

This trumpet was first blown (loudly) by Tom Pabst of TomsHardware.com. He did extensive tests a couple of months ago and came to the same conclusions. Actually in his tests PC-133 RAM in a BX mainboard was 10-20% faster than RAMBUS.
