Well my friend walked out of here happy with his 850 CPU and I'm sailing with my new 1 GHz P!!! running at a cool 38 degree C. He, he, I'm a Gigger man!!! Not bad for this old MB. Now, to see if it can get pushed towards 112 MHz ...

Jorden: as Maggi tried to tell you, the multiplyer isn't an issue as all production type Intel CPUs are multiplyer locked for a long time now. Wether you set your mobo to 3x or 1x, it will run at the multiplyer that's fixed in your CPU (_even_ when you can't set that multiplyer manually on your mobo)

Reporting 2.096v Vcore. I'll stress it a bit with Prime95 while checking the temperature. I'll still have him check out other power supplies.</font>

        Impressive !!!

I never thought it would be stable up there ...

Did you add a 2nd fan or something ?
Also try some heavy UT fragging (preferably some wicked timedemo) or another real heater would be FlaskMPEG, but use the "AMD optimized IDCT", as it will be faster on Celeries.

Thanx dZeus, I was about to explode ...

        Cheers,

        PS: Jord, I thought you'd know that I run a Celeron 566 @ 850-952 (100-112MHz FSB depending on surrounding ambience temperature) ...
Despite my nickname causing confusion, I am not female ...

This is all stock fans, retail boxed CPUs. His case is much more cramped than mine and he doesn't have the honkin' fans but its got to be black (HTPC).

Its main purpose is to play DVDs smoothly but he also uses this box for OTA HDTV record/playback and FireWire video capture. He seemed satisfied it was stable and will hope for the best as he fires up his apps. Meanwhile, my Gigger crunched away at Prime95 for hours and never got hotter than 42 degree C and stayed rock stable.
