Ashley (who is developing both programs) claims that they both use same prosedures but so far I haven't hear anyone say that he would have problems with that tweaker.

Then again Ashley also used to claim that it's not possible that PowerStrip messses the BIOS but that has been confirmed by Matrox by my understanding.

ya i know i was wondering if anyone knew if build 12 was the revamped one or not. i have yet to use full powerstrip (cuase i don't like it too much extra garbage. but the latest build of ps or is that pos is fixed in reguards to g400 bios. and i was wondering if
performance tunner was of same fixed state yet or if it 's going to eat my g400 bios. or is thier a nicer yet similar program i could use.

g200clk is a pain for me as i run my desktop at a difrent res than i play games in, and i play difrent games at difrent res color depth.
and acording to g200clk txt file changeing res restores defualt clock rates. meaning i would have to run a shortcut every time i changed res.

Actually, Ashley still says that the PowerStrip cannot and does not do anything to a video BIOS, but never mind...

As it turns out it was PowerDESK, not PowerStrip, that was eating BIOSes left and right - see http://www.g400max.f9.co.uk/Over%20Clocking.htm.

        Don't believe everything you read.

Ashley, ah i try not to beleave every thing. i read untill so many are saying it that i don't want to risk a pice of hard ware.

so i wait let others try and i see what happens. i don't mind spending money on stuff i blow up just not on stuff that others may have cuased to blow up.

please post that url again as that link don't work. performance tuner looks nice. full version of power strip just has too much stuff in thire to keep track of for me.

Yes, Ashley, please give a good link. The information I have is that Powerstrip caused the problems, because if the way it accesses certain registers, and handles (or rather doesn't handle) CRT blanking.

I find it hard to beleive you can blame Powerdesk, since all Matrox users use Powerdesk, but only the ones who used PowerSTRIP had the problems...

No sense of humor among the devout, eh? The link is here - http://www.g400max.f9.co.uk > Overclocking - and the author clearly meant to write PowerStrip, rather than PowerDesk.

I direct attention to it in fun, as nothing more that an example of what happens when rumors are presented as facts and then get spread around...

                Hey guys
I think we should give Ashley a break. He has been nothing but good at everyone yelling at him about powerstrip and have it goes from computer to computer eating BIOSes and snacking on garbled screens. Anyway I think Ashley is a good example to follow about how to act on this forum. Anyway I would like to know if the lastest PS still causes problems with G400s?

The new version of powerstrip is working on good on mine but if you try to use it take every precaution.

backup video card bios as stated by other members before you try it.
