Gee thanks Jord. I was hoping you 2 would forget about that

Waxling - Tech Supp won't give out pin outs because for the simple fact, we had too many complaints about it. Yes really we did

We would fax out an 18x11 shcematic to clients of any pin outs they want. MOST of them would have a fax machine that can't handle the paper this size so it all gets shrunk. Then they call us back and start complaining that they can't read anything and would ask for another fax but sent to them in 4 sections.

Or we would scan them in and email out. They still complained that the attachement was too big.

That's why we stopped doing this.

If you really want the schematic, let me know and I'll fax it to you.

        Thank you Haig !!!

Yes, please send them my way...

Just so you know I've been 'mailing Daniel a fair bit (think he's getting sick of me, hehe) and I think I lost him along the way,...

He's mentioned he's sent me another cable, but I'm not sure if he followed me when I started talking about the different standards of SCART, and how the S-video and RGB variants share the same pins for different functions, but there is no 'adapter' to go between the two. He said something about problems with the cable that was originally shipped? I had a look at the cable and on close inspection, it's not quite a s-video cable is it? Whats with the three extra pins in the centre? In case you didn't know ( I'm sure you do), a regular S-video connector looks like this
        http://www.gamesx.com/hwb/co_SVideo.html

But the one on this cable has three extra pins in an odd (read not evenly spaced) configuration. Do these pins carry the RGB signals?

Anyway, all this is irrelevant if you could send me the schematic, or, not even that, just a listing of pins for the second port, and their functions, whichever is easier...
BTW if you have a high quality scan of the schematic, I can think of a few easier (and cheaper than a fax to OZ), ways of getting the gear to me. How fast is your connection? Email me for FTP details.

        You guys are great...

Those extra pins are as you mentioned, for the RGB signals. It will still connect properly to the standard 4 pin S-video.

Can't ftp it due to our firewall. I will scan it and attach it via email.
