    i´m happy to say that i´ve pushed to 210mhz (Gclock), and memclock to about 235mhz

    but i´m not sure these are true values as my cpu is stressd from 183mhz up

    could you guys give suggestions on what other benchmarks than 3dmark2000 i could use to better test my p2 350@392

    thanks in advance, Leporis

        Hi there! My G400 will run way up there too. However, I don't recommend leaving it up there. Your 392Mhz P2 just isn't providing the CPU punch to help you much up there.

        You also should try (if you're using MGATweak) turning the dividers down (say instead of 2.5, try 1.5).. this caused some odd effects in my G400. Apparently as the PLL clock goes up, odd things happen. Your G400 may not be running at 200 but still be saying it is.

        I've tried TONS and Tons of different speeds, including:

        200/200/200
        180/200/200
        180/210/200
        160/200/160
        168/214/168

        My memory isn't as giving as yours and maxes out around 201. I've found the best spot to be is just 160/200/160. It is the most un-odd-like, doesn't do weird things. It's very fast. The memory makes MUCH more difference than speeding up the core (for me anyways)

          Hi leporis´,

          In fact, I never saw such a low 3DMark 2000 Result (ok, at that resolution).
          Sell your PII 350 and buy a new one (a normal PIII 600 has about 2500 3DMarks).
          But it would silly to buy a new CPU only for Benchmarking!
          PS: Man! That Fillrate numbers are incredible!

            Hey Leporis,

            increase your graphics aperture size to 128MB even if you only have 64MB installed ...

            I think than you're able to run the 64MB rendering test too.

            I had my g.a.s. at 256MB despite having only 128MB installed ... didn't cause any probs, but increased my amount of texture memory (AGP wise).

            Cheers,

              I've noticed that DXDiag would report my total video memory as my G200's memory + 1/2 aperture. 64MB aperture -> 40MB (8 + 32). 128MB would yield 72MB.

              Might be related.

                yup ... you only have to substract the memory amount for the display buffers:

                for example 1024x768 in true color is 2.25MB per buffer so that the use of triple buffering would need 6.75MB of local gfx RAM

                -> 32MB - 6.75 MB = 25.25MB local texture memory
                -> 25.25MB + 64MB = 89.25MB total texture memory

                I guess you had to substract the amount of RAM that is used by your system, but it should still be enough to run the 64MB test.

                Cheerio,
                Maggi

                  Leporis: did you verify your settings with some other program? It looks strange. If the answer is "yes", what revision of the chip and board do you have (hint: get MXINFO from my website).

                  Your 3DMark scores are mostly lower than mine (K6-III 400), and my card works at 204/153.

                    After further testing i concluded my board wasn´t at that speed, but i have some good news.

                    Fortunately, now it´s running @ 176/220/176 and these new settings squeezed a few extra framerates here and there.

                    but most importantly. you guys(if you haven´t already) should try to drop the numbers on the following intructions (MGATweak1.2):

                      the upper 5 options on the sgram optimization tab
                      my tests on this concluded the theses options at optimum speed gain as much speed as +-20mhz Mclock increase and if you drop the the options said you can increase the Mclock to +10/15mhz

                      Good luck with your G400
