Hi, I would like to buy a g400 but I am not sure which at this point. My g200 16MB is almost sufficient for q3a in every case and I play at "normal" which is quite acceptable to me.
But the g200 is a loaner from work and I am bound to return it sometime and also I want to see what that TurboGL will do to my computer :-)
So I want to buy a g400 vanilla type but I am unsure about the memory configuration. Has anyone tried both the 16MB and 32MB and can say whether or not q3a looks and performs differently on one or the other? Also I suspect that using EMBM requires more memory. It's just that the g400 OEM (16MB) is such a bargain, it seems like I could buy it and use it until I get the g800 this fall. Is the extra 16MB worth CND$100?
It just seems like I keep upgrading all the time! Maybe if I keep upgrading with cheaper stuff I will always have the current technology but at half the price since I would upgrade anyway... Everything becomes obsolete after a year whether it was expensive or not.
