I hope Digital Illusions make another Tech demo for Matrox. They sure have a flair for eye candy And an updated Motorhead game would not be unwelcome either...

I don't have any information. I have no connections to Matrox whatsoever, other than as a user. The Beta Boys might know something, but as I said, they wouldn't be allowed to tell you.

The g800 exist. Maybe will be not named "g800".
Someone told me that Matrox have a new video card. At this moment all is TOP SECRET (NDA).
        Keep faith

We know beyond a doubt that the G800 exists, or at least did. It was in that driver release remember.

Whats possible is that Matrox has dropped the G800 in favour of the Condor2 which was in the same driver release (and has a much cooler name).

All the beta boys saying "whats that" is a giveaway that Matrox has had a word to them saying to deny everything.

I think the G450 is the Condor. Im not 100% sure of that, but if you do a bios or PINS save I heard it calls itself a condor.

I dont have one to check, so thats just what I read somewhere (here maybee?)

check Matrox files.. and there have been many rumours that G800 is in fact Condor 2 (and pin compatible with the G450, etc.etc..) I can't confirm any of these rumours, because I plainly don't know

Condor was the G450 chip's codename for internal communication...

BTW, www.g800.com was registered by a guy that planned to do a Roland G800 page. . . He never did. . . which means Matrox still has the option to buy it from him. . . Or maybe Matrox already bought it and diguised it to keep quiet about it. . . Dunno for sure, but I sure hope Matrox kicks ATI's and nVIDIA's asses for once! ! !

We don't "deny everything". There's plenty that we can't disclose, but very little that we know. And I certainly haven't been told to lie, nor do I intend to.

                          Wombat;
I didnt mean to say that you were lying, I just meant that Matrox could have said "The g800 is dropped, we are now working on a wobbly dingle 2000". Therefore you arnt lying by saying that the G800 doesnt exist, because it might never have gone past the research stage.

Matrox has never said a G800 has existed, so why should they say something took its place?

Ok, I'll spill the beans. All of us close to the big M know that they have been working on the G8086 QuadHead Maximus. It has 4 monitor outp....

                              Something like that.....

                              b

(for the record, I know nothing about this stuff, nor do I have any reason to, so don't ask)
Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow? But why put off until tomorrow what you can put off altogether?

They never said it exested, but there were G800 entries in the drivers, so we know it did.

Its like Ford never said the Model T existed. They didnt have to, they were driving around in one.

I dont know what goes on in the Beta Boys realm, but there are 2 possibilities.

                                1) Matrox sends you beta drivers to test on your own hardware. You use them and send in reports of any faults or ideas for improvements. Other than that you have no contact.

                                2) Matrox gives you beta drivers and beta hardware. You test both and give reports back. If this is the case Matrox probably also gives you some technical details on the beta hardware to help with setup and so you know what it should be able to do.

If 1 is true then you prob only know the same as what we know, apart from whatever entries are in the drivers that we never get to see. If 2 is true then you prob know everything that we want to know, and Im very jealous.
