Assuming the 'Matrox Skinning' is matrix skinning, I'd bet that was a fancy way to say '3D Texture Support', ie, the G550 would be a DirectX8 boards.
3D texturing is one of the highly useless DX8 features that no game dev is ever going to implement.
PS - 256-Bit dual bus is just parallel 128-bit reads and writes. So it's still only a 128-bit wide texture bandwidth.
PPS - Is it April the 1st??

Apparently it is actually Matrox Skinning and not Matrix Skinning. It refers to the fact that if the damn thing gets delayed any longer the people in charge of the project are gonna get skinned and hung up for the birds to peck their eyes out.Comment
