that's one of the benefits of WHQL drivers, they are bullet prove ...
if not, what is a qualification procedure to get included into major OS releases (pretty handy when you have OEMs to supply) good for ?

downside though, they might lack some performance and they also cannot really be up to date, which is indicated by the driver's version number

give it a try and scream when you find bugs ...

        Cheers,

Maggi .. lack some performance ? they lack ALOT of performance, like the 6.04 win9x certified drivers was terrible in OGL.

also they don't have all features and not all *known* bugs are fixed.

After comapring how the Open GL demos run with certified and non certified drivers, i think i won't use certified drivers again unless I KNOW they fix something i really NEED.

sigh, after trying all new win2k drivers, none of them fix the shifted display after hibernate bug.
Only the old 5.03 drivers were working ok.

Matrox, u know this bug exist, c'mon ... do something please !!!

Arbymo, you can swap the ICD whenever you want. So if the new WHQL drivers are good in D3D, just take the g400icd.dll from another driver pack and put it in C:\Windows\System.
From the 9x power desks it will work from PD 5.50.010 to PD 6.51, any ICD previous to 5.50.010 won't work (trust me, I have tryed almost all the win 9x ICDs, from 5.41 to 6.51).
Right now I'm using the new WHQL drivers for D3D and the ICD from PD 5.50.010 (proved to be the fastest and has less flickering). A bit unstable (the ICD), but as long as you don't try to change video modes during a game you're fine.
