Reckless: It ain't really bull. $525 for Millennium 8MB. $400 for Parhelia 128MB. 6 years later, assuming* memory doubled every 18 months for same price...128MB. So we've got $125 left over to buy UT2003 and more

Mephisto: Your first card was the G200 MMS? Sheesh

Back when I got my Pentium 133 I needed a new gfx card and I wanted some cream.. so I got me a Mystique 2mb

Then I got myself a BP6 sweetie and to do it justice I went out and got me a G400 32MB DH card which I am still living with.
The card is still pretty sweet - but I guess I'll exchange it for a Parhelia once I can afford it.

My first card was (and still is) a Marvel G400 TV. I mainly choosed it because of the video stuff, but discovered that the card was more than just that ;D

After some "driver-fixing" (using G400 MAX dirvers) it is very stable in my WinXP system. Next card i will by is........Parhelia....of course, no doubt about it ;D

Speaking of nostalgy, I started surfing the net by the end of 1996 (the year I bought myself my first custom made computer with a Millenium).
At that time there was the MURC and two other [M]atrox related sites. Does any one remember those ? One was a news site with a guy that had a some axe fetish and I can't really remember the other one.
Anyway, I've been a member of the MURC since 96/97.
Lost my old account (Cloudy) after one of the cracker attacks.

No intention of starting a flame war, I still remember my old flame wars about the infamous G200 with 'Father Joel'
Also remember Maggi being around here much more often than he does now

Anyway, who remembers those other 2 [M]atrox related sites ?

                      Dogbert,

                      I now must hate you...

I remember what you are talking about but cannot for the life of me remember them, and it's going to annoy the crap out of me until either i remember or someone comes up with them.

So, as you can see, I must now hate you...

The only site that comes to mind was G200.com but that was later than what you are talking about.

Eh, I replied to this earlier!

                          Anyway, there was

G200.com (now a pr0n site!) run by Phil
gtech.matroxusers.com (nor defunct) was run my me for a very brief period - had info on all sort of Matrox things
thefly.matroxusers.com (?) - screenshots of games running on Matrox hardware
The video editing site now not just Matrox
                          M Factor 1 was another.
gbm's MatroXFiles is still going for all things BIOS.

The old forums used to be on forums.gagames.com - what great hosts they were!

my first matrox card was an oem 16mb g400.

that card brought me to my senses or it made me crazy enough (relative to how one looks at it) to stalk out for a g400max, which is in my rig now.

along the way, a nice 2mb pci millenium 1 came aboard.

now eagerly waiting for the 64mb version of parhelia. it's been a long time...
                            The future's no use today.

I went from a *Wonderful* ATI VLB card (remember VLB?) to a Mystique 4 MB card, then to a Mil. G200 when it came out, then to a G400Max in 2000, and now a Radeon 8500.

I miss my Max, but I need the 16 FPS the Radeon can do in Dungeon Siege with the quality maxed.

My dad also got a Mystique with me, and a vanilla G400 32 SH right before the GeForces came out.
