Yeah, I had to rollback to pre-sp1 due to issues, which I can't for 100% sure pinpoint to P drivers, but since others don't have P installed don't seem to have them it's a pretty good guess it is. That is more important to me to get fixed than some games.

I agree totally. Or us mere users can have the linux drivers too. I really don't like this holier than thou attitude some of the beta testers of Matrox have. Just because you get to beta test their drivers doesn't mean that your crap doesn't stink too.

What issues are you having? I installed SP1 and haven't had any problems so far. At least that I'm aware of.....

...can you think of any reason why Matrox would hold back drivers? Could Matrox have any possible interest in holding back drivers? Can you imagine what the repercussions from you and major customers would be if Matrox released immature drivers? Can you imagine that driver criterion is currently very much in flux? Can you imagine that what has slipped out here is actually talking out of school, just to give you a hint and an insight for which you could be a little bit grateful? Do you want to have GTA3 fixed, just to have something else bust?

For me, I would much rather have a stable and dependable driver for the majority, and I can wait for the rest ...which in my experience does come... excuse me, but with this kind of pestering, don't know about you, I couldn't get any work done...
How can you possibly take anything seriously?
Who cares?

There is a very annying thing I have noticed with the DesktopManager Powertoy. I use it cause I always have lots of windows open, and 4 desktops helps me to keep stuff somewhat organized. Anyway, with SP1 installed, switching back and forth between desktops will eventually make Outlook minimize to a 1 pixel size. Not quite useable or traceable. Closing it and opening it again, will make it show up in the minimum resizable size, about 1" square in the top left corner. Deinstalling that powertoy and using the Matrox desktop thingie made whole windows disappear. As in totally gone and only visible in taskmanager as running process, with no way getting it on screen. Anyway, very annoying. Rolling back to pre-sp1 made all problems go away.

I'm pretty sure that the crew writing the drivers aren't wasting their time reading this messageboard during workhours.

Do you know if the patch that's supposed to improve the netcode and fix other bugs in Serious Sam will be released for FE and SE, or only SE? IMO, FE is a lot more fun in coop mode but the netcode is pretty bad. The Great Pyramid level is impossible to play because of the constant "too many bad syncs" errors

There was a new set of drivers scheduled for release last wensday “with improvement for different OpenGL applications, Autodesk (ACAD 2002 and Inventor 5) and 3D Studio Max 4.3"
But they were postponed on Thursday, hardly a trade secret….

on some other forums I have read that GTA3 may have some bad memory leaks related to AGP texturing.

Reduceing the AGP aperture size to 4M or disableing directx AGP textures seem to fixed it for some ATI cards, probably different for Parhelia but it may worth a try

What a surprise, considering that the desktop powertoys was programmed by Microsoft themselves. Lovely that they break their own software. The only odd thing I've noticed since installing SP1 is that mozilla now comes up with some dialog asking which program I want to use to execute a application/zip file. What the hell, I just want to DOWNLOAD it, but it doesn't give me that choice. Something stinks in this city (besides Greebe's raunch) and I think it could be Bill Gate's Raunch.

Someone bitter? Just wondering, Wombat, what exactly went down. You said at one point that Matrox had stopped sending you new betas for linux drivers? Or maybe I'm remembering wrong, I'm tired as hell. Could you perhaps shed a bit of light on it? or are you under NDA and cannot speaketh of such things?
