  • Tomb Raider 4: white vertical stripes in inventory screen at 32 bpp

I tested original CD version and patch of TR4 and both display corrupt screen backround when you press ESC and go to the inventory, if you set the colours at 32 bits.

16 bits is ok, the inventory screen displays correctly the scene in solarized B/W.

Setting 32 bits, the backround is black with 2 horizontal garbaged lines with original exe; patched exe displays many white vertical stripes.

    Using PD 5.41 and DX7a with a G400max.

Anyone has the same problem ?

Yep, exactl;y the same here, I have learned to live with it.

By the way have you any idea what exactly is bump mapped in TR4 ?.

      No !
Sometime it seems to me that some wall is bumpmapped but I think it is not EMBM of G400.

        hi
far away from G400 EMBM, because my voodoo2 has exact these bump maps. Menu screen is corrupt when 32bit colors are enabled with or without tb4 patch.
        hehe,Yes I live with it, I don`t play it.

        sorry my english stuff

        bye

Same observations here. Did you also notice that the colours in 32 bit with the patch are intensely green and red? The vertical striped menu annoyed me so much that I am back playing without the patch and at 1024X768X16 and the play is smooth as silk. A vastly superior game to TR3.
