Alternate Reality: The City was cool, but pointless and full of bugs. The one you want to play is Alternate Reality: The Dungeon. There is a lot of information on both of them on the net. The City made it pretty much to every platform, includeing the IBM PC's, Atari ST, Atari 8-bits, Amiga, C64, Apple IIc, etc. But the Dungeon I think was only released on the Atari 8-bit (where I played it and mapped out the HUGE levels by hand, them were the days....) and the C64 and Apple I think also had it. Great game....unfortunately they were going to make an Alternate Reality Online (screenshots lookd simply beautiful and the remade music was really cool too) but Monolith found out they didn't have enough money to start such a massive project. Which is more the pity, 'cause that would have simply been the BEST online role-playing game, if it followed the same concepts as the original games, which it supposedly would have, since the original creators were working on it. http://www.aro.com is the last official web page I'm aware of, but it hasn't been updated for several years now. I think since about '99.
