  • Problems with old Seti...

As I was using trusty old Seti 1.06 on all of the PCs, I am out of luck. I've got 4 different results I want to upload to Seti, but it keeps nagging me with the following message:

Now downloaded version 3.0 and will try to upload the stuff through that.

And now it tells me I have only completed 345 units? This stinks

Hmm ,seems like SETI are jumping the gun abit ,there not supposed to be blocking any previous versions until Nov 18th.

How many WU's should you have?

But it's a 1.06 client, they are already blocked...
It's the 2.X clients that are on Nov 18th.

Assim, I was at 400 when I started again, and was able to upload 3 new WU's before the message came through today... btw, the new version 3.0 is very slow... It's been crunching un-attended for the past 1 and a half hour, and I'm at 4% ... Hmmm, this is going to take at least 40 hours per WU

SETI@home version 3.0 is now available for most platforms. If you are having problems running an earlier version, please upgrade to version 3.0. This upgrade is currently optional for people using version 2.X; it will soon become mandatory. It is currently mandatory for people using version 1.X.

I just quit this WU, zipped it up for anyone to test it. I downloaded a new one and am at 2% after only 30 minutes crunching. Still at the revengefull 345 though

Btw, I sent my WU to Assim. Not to help him or TA, but just to test, okay? If anyone else wants it, get it HERE

Could you post some system specs Jord? Did you read the article at teamlambchop?

                          EDIT: Fixed link!

Using a P3-450, L2 cache on, 256Mb RAM, Seti always on (when the PC is on mind you).

                            Running WinME and GUI3.0 now

                              Jorden,

Run the Client version. I have good times to finish most WUs.

                              PIII 600E @ 830MHz CAS 2 RAM, FSB at
                              138MHz

Most WUs are done in 4 hours 30 minutes or so, if I do not use the computer for anything but crunching [which is seldom].
