Yes Ant, please set something up. Po Box, paypal, or whatever else. There is no reason for you to be paying that kinda money out of your own backpocket. Furthermore you should be making some sort of money off of this site.

I've been thinking..... seeing how much support us lot here indirectly give Matrox (and IIRC Matrox Tech Support have told people to come here in the past), it would be nice for Matrox to make a small donation to the sites upkeep.
However I know being seen to be financed by Matrox themselves would effectively end the independant stance of MURC, which none of us really want.

So, if like Technoid and latterly Thop suggested, the site has banner adverts that you have to be a paying, registered member to avoid, there's nothing to stop Big M registering a number of corporate users, is there?

Hi there!! I have been trying to contact Ant about a proposal on free hosting but no response yet. It started when the Parhelia first entered scene and the site got a lot of hits, the ISP and Ant had a "little" discussion... Since then I told him to send me details about bandwith consumed by the MURC, technical specs for the server needed to run the forums, etc, to see if I could put it in my own ISP. Ant hasn´t contacted me yet , well he did that time but not now, and I think this would be a great opportunity.

Ant, I can host the main site on my server for free. I have a co-loc and fast connection. Unfortunately, I doubt I can host the forum as my little sparc would probably crumble under the load such a dynamic enviroment produces without a memory upgrade.
However, with main site provided for, you should have a lil more breathing room.
