Thanks. Maybe its something on my end. I copied the shortcut directly into the address bar and I was successful. I'll try a cache flush ...

Still fails after a cache flush even when opening the link in a new window. The failed page will then come up o.k. if I append a space character to the URL in the address bar, even if I also then delete the added space. Its also strange that I've only seen it occur on that particular thread. I had just done a repair on IE yesterday due to script errors (stack overflow) I was getting. Oh well, doesn't seem to be a site problem so I'll discontinue this thread here.

... not if it requires loading any additonal software.

Well, it requires loading essential software. Consider it a service pack for your browsing experience.. or just wait till 7.20 final is out and experience speed

I do notice that I get the IE message "Done, but with errors on page." on that thread. I'm using IE 6.0.2600 w/ Java and Active X disabled. I wonder if any other IE users have a problem with that thread.

O.K. thanks. I'm using W2KAS SP2. I added the forums to my trusted site list which allows all that "virsus-on-demand" code and I have the same results. I think I'll try a repair again. I've been debating about finally allowing SP3 on this machine but I'm not quite up for it yet.

Using W2K pro sp2 here, with IE 5.5. Works perfectly.

W2k Pro, Moz 1.3, works fine here.

It's an IE bug, something to do with non alphanumeric Characters in the titile. Brian worked it out.

Oh please ... all browsers have bugs. The difference is that most sites try and make sure their stuff runs fine under IE as a first priority (that and you already get IE with the Windows OS install).

I don't know if the thread was intended to have been fixed or not but I still have problems with it.
