RR-like add-on coming for G550?

Hi,

I just opened up the packaging to the G550. Nice and small card dominated by the heatsink on the main unit. I noticed there is a connector for ribbon cable on it. Does anyone have an idea what the is its purpose? I have a small amount of hope that it can be used for a video editing add-on.

RR on G550

Yes, that is the VESA feature connector. I din't think Matrox will produce an RR version thing to G550. Perhaps their will be an Marvel version (Matrox G550 Marvel eTV ??) I don't know.

G400 & G200 have another feature connector to that you also use for the RR card. As far as i know Matrox hasen't suported RR cards on the Gx50 series of graphics cards, only the Gx00 series (-G100)

You could always get an RT-2500

It's for connecting the "Super Rainbow Runner" to, alternatively known as the Matrox RT2500.
