It depends on how you define post whoring. So far, all of the answers in this thread could be considered PWing, or just "funny/useless posts". Postwhoring just to get the zokescount up is not very funny, but if you do it in a funny way (what is funny is obviously arguable), I actually find it quite nice

Oh, one more thing: Postwhoring should of course be refrained from in serious threads, but in most lounge threads it's no problem IMHO (and in some it's the sole purpose of the thread ).

If it is a useless waste of space, such as a post that says nothing but "postcount++" with no humor attached it's lame. And yeah, again some people see humor and others might not, and arguably they have no sense of humor, but anyhow..

The birthday threads are an oddity, though. It is nice to wish someone a happy birthday, and for the birthday boy/girl, it's nice to feel appreciated, but for everyone else an endless chain of posts that say nothing but HBD (or Grattis På Födelsedagen or Herzlichen Glückwunsch or Gelukkige verjaardag or whatever) is awfully boring, though we can all wish someone happy birthday in nearly every Germanic tongue, which is somewhat educational I suppose.

When people post jokes and the only responses to the thread are ROFL or , that gets kind of tiresome, too, though it may serve to keep a good joke at the top of the heap for awhile so that others get a chance to see it.
