    Thanks guys!
It was a hard decision to make as I loved those dear pastels, but I was threatened with a whi... err... I just decided it was a good idea

Good work! Now for that pastel dot that indicates one has posted in a thread... I know you can do it!

You could bold the whole lot of the envelope icons as far as I'm concerned.

and dump the icon for the old one as well.

        Trivial complaints I'm sure.
        I like the new setup.
        Thanks and Congrats!

The icon for hot thread with new posts is rather bold already, don't you think?

As far as the icon for old threads, are you suggesting we get rid of it completely? Otherwise it is not bolded as it's not really supposed to grab attention.

I'm more than willing to make changes to most any of the graphics if they are causing problems with usability or are a little too ambiguous. I work on an iBook with OS X, so what graphics look like to me aren't going to be the same as those on Windows or Linux or other OS's, so just let me know and I will do what I can.

Update: Created a thread for icon/graphic feedback, which will make it easier to keep track of related requests. Thanks.

Now that you have sorted out the font problem, I like the new aspect , but not all the subjects treated here

Personally I much prefer a white background with black text for reading because of the better contrast. As such I'd put the darker shade on the poster/subject/etc. areas and white in the text body.

Actually, too high a contrast (for instance white background with a black text) is bad for most readers - it tires the eyes and leads to headache etc. I am very happy with the grey background.

Brian, part of this is for you
Ok, peeps, I will post it here, and make a note in feedback later,
go to your user CP, in profiles, down the bottom, you have some radion buttons, self explanitory.

                    Enjoy

                    • Sorry, Sasq, are they really supposed to do something? I tried fiddling with all three and don't see any difference. Am I being more-than-usually thick?

That last question is rhetoric, so don't all rush to answer it!

                      • Nice But does anyone really not want their new threads in bold? Does disabling thread preview lighten the load on the server or on the connection? (I don't see them in Opera anyway, and I would have disabled them if I saw them )

                        • Top one kills the bold on new posts/threads in forum/new posts display.
next one is ment to add italics to subscribed threads in same display
Last kills the alt tag popup over thread details.

I thought it was you that asked for the alt tag to be killed, I could just be lacking sleep though

                          • Yep, insomnia must be getting at you. T'wasn't I

However, none of the three seem to make any difference but, and this may be a clue, I've even lost the bolding of new threads some time today (possibly about 10 am GMT), no matter whether the radio button says aye or nay.

I like the idea of italicising threads that I've paticipated in, but all I get is the little button on the icon.

As for the Alt tag, I've tried "enbabling" [sic] and not, to no avail, so I don't even know what it is

Guess I'm just a big PITA!

                            • Threads you've participated in doesn't equal threads you've subscribed to. You subscribe to threads where you want to be notified via email when a new post is posted.

Though italicising threads in which one has participated would be a very neat option

                              • Just as a side note, the thread preview on mouse over/hover uses the ALT attribute, which some browsers do not display on said action. These browsers do display text placed in the TITLE attribute however, which would be easy enough to add.

I like the idea of italicising subscribed threads.
