      Superman Returns teaser trailer has gone live on the WB site;

      I highly recommend the Quicktime version at the highest bitrate you can handle, preferrably Cable/LAN. This delivers 30 fps, very high quality Sorensen encoding etc.

        Well it looks all shiney. Have to reserve any sort of judgement for a non-teaser trailer.

        I still find it amusing though that this film is intended to be a sequel of sorts to first two of Christoper's Superman movies, and yet they wanted to cast a younger looking actor. Guess Superman was off having some plastic surgery done

          All the better for more sequals with the same cast if all goes well at the box office

            Interesting. I have hope for this movie. I need to dust off my 4 DVD set of the first four and watch them again. Yes. THat even includes the third one.

              Just watched the trailer at the beginning of our Goblet of Fire sneak, hopefully Superman is good, tired of all the terrible movies recently.

                Just saw the teaser trailer. And... Didn't inspire me. Hopefully a full trailer will persuade me it's something I should go and watch. Right now, it seems missable.

                  Well they even went as far to steal Marlon Brando out of the original movies! LOL
                  Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

                    That Brando was being kept for consistancy is old news and has been in the IMDB article for over a year.

                      Latest buzz:

                      Superman Returns will be issued to both conventional and IMAX theaters simultaneously.

                      There will be cameo's by both Jack Larson (Jimmy Olsen) and Noel Neill (Lois Lane) of the old Superman TV series.

                      Character changes;

                      Kate Bozworth's Lois Lane will be portrayed in the Katharine Hepburn style. She used Hepburns performances in The Philadelpha Story and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner as jumping off points.

                      Frank Langella's Perry White not to be the cigar chomper portrayed by Jackie Cooper in the Chris Reeve films but the strong, quiet personality type.

                        So not only have the characters found a fountain of youth in some cases, but they've also had personality changes?

                        Maybe I'm just being negative because I think the leading man just isn't going to cut it.

                          Actually the "changes" in Lois Land and Perry White reflect a return to the visions of those characters in the Max Fleischer cartoons of the 40's and the radio & TV series vs. those of the Chris Reeve movies. This is also closer to the original vision in the comics. Same goes for the costume.

                          In those earlier versions both characters were much stronger, Lois in particular. No way would Noel Neill's Lois Lane have fainted after being saved from the helicopter accident. She'd have started rattling off questions on the way back up to the heliport and still been talking as he flew away (seeking slience)

                          As for if he's up to being Sups...time will tell.

                            I was poking fun at the whole it's a sequel but it not a sequel message the movie is sending. I'm fond of the Christopher Reeve movies, but I'd prefer to see a Superman more in-line with the one from the comics (not that I ever read them all that much).

                            Of course, then there's the issue of which comic version of Superman do you go for. Obviously the answer here is one that isn't current with today's version.
