You know... I agree with the writers views, Ballmer is all song and dance about his products yet they lack vision and inspiration. Already Windows phone 7 is in trouble for lack of support let alone the high license fees.
Microsoft is strong in the Enterprise with Back office/Exchange etc. they are having a problem in the consumer market, they R&D to death with no product to show for it.
Already Apple passes Microsoft, perhaps for the first time but one thing Apple has over Microsoft is that they are both a hardware and software company unlike MS.
I think Ballmer will be opening his third envelope soon enough.
