    Donors: 2,306 & counting

    Pledged: $61,557 ($50,000 goal)

Fundraising will continue for another 31 days. They already have a copyright license from MGM via Fred Barton Productions who will also collaborate, it'll likely be bronze, between 7 and 10 feet tall, and several original cast members have already said they'll be there for the dedication. The permit process has started and several locations are being discussed, both public and private.

Fred Barton, aka "Robot Man", licensed the rights to Robocop statuary and has actually been working on a design for some time, and he has been working from detailed studio blueprints and models that show suit details that never were visible in the films. His company is famous for making museum quality versions of movie & TV robots & machinery for customers around the world - including Robby from Forbidden Planet, R2D2, C3PO, the Lost In Space robot, The Time Machine etc. etc.

Pose probanly similar to this -

In our city we have a statue that is essential element of one of defining city squares, there is no tourist picture book without it. But around 1900 when it was built it caused huge controversy as the naked bare breasted muse above poet is facing a monastery. There were lots of polemics in the books and newspapers in those times whether it's appropriate to have a bare breast muse in what was then called square of St. Mary.

        Update:

Barton finished his 1:1 statue and it's been sent out for laser scanning, enlarging and manufacture. Hopefully it'll be dedicated next summer at Detroit's Wayne State University tech park. Peter Weller has been invited, and when he was here this fall sounded like he wants to work it in. Fingers crossed.
