I'm glad he got caught. It sickens me to read, "depicting the sexual exploitation of a child, including some depicting sadistic or masochistic acts." WTF!? People are ****ed up! If someone ever touched my son or daughter, they would be dead, and yes, that's a threat. And this reminds me of that poor 7 yr old girl that was recently beaten, stabbed, raped and killed. I can barely think about that before wanting to destroy something. And I initially got along with Joel but then I made a post one day about a racist, homophobic, ****ole and we got into a brutal argument about it and that pretty much ended that friendship. Looks like I wasn't missing anything...****er

I thought I was the only one who actually remembers old arguments fought here on MURC but apparantly I am not alone.

I don't remember crossing swords with him and seldom hold grudges, but pedophiles bring out my inner Tomás de Torquemada - I'd roast 'em alive, slowly, given the chance. Comes from seeing too many horrible things they've done to kids that were nightmare inducing. Trust me....you don't want to know

I agree with all of your reactions, and comments, abso-f**king-lutely, but still find the Pedobear jokes hilarious.

Someone should not dress up as Pedobear for Halloween though, I saw that on the Net a short while ago and didn't think it was appropriate, or funny.

When I joined this forum I was in my 20's and it seemed a bit like an old fart forum (I'm becoming an old fart myself so it's no longer much of a problem).

Some things seemed weird about him. Someone who is an old fart using a dragon as an avatar (in your teens it's reasonable in your 40s it's ridiculous) and I think he was not up to the task of being a mod since he was partial. He was deleting/moderating threads based on his own personal judgement rather than based on objective criteria.

I don't think the avatars can say a lot about a person. I now have the same avatar for so many years, and I'm not going to change it. As Kruzin said, he used the handle "dragon" often online, and probably it is a handle he had been using for years.

My Avatar doesn't say anything about me at all, except I like 80's movies

Which is somewhat funny because quite a few of us were in our 20's as well.

As for Joel... He always seemed a bit off, but then I could say that about a lot of people I see online.

As I said earlier tonight when word blew this way, DAMN

Kruzin, we were just talking about Joel, back in what May/June

If I were to give someone the benefit of doubt, I'd say he was fine
if I went with gut instinct I'd say DAMN

there were a few slipups on his part over the years that left me wondering Hmmmm

Not that this is confirmation of that, just DAMN

Man, I really hate to see that. If he really did those things, then I feel that the punishment he got is not near severe enough.

And I actually liked the guy. Just goes to show you can never really know what people do behind their closed doors.
