tv-output settings

When I enable the TV-output on my G200 to watch a DVD on my TV, the settings change to a wide screen view on both my monitor and my TV. The DVD plays fine on the monitor until I enable the TV-output. The "display area" remains at 800x600 after the change to a wide screen view. My monitor is a ViewSonic G773 if that makes any difference.
