Media Player delay in video playback w/ MarvelG400

I swapped out my G400DH for a Marvel G400, and everything works okay, except for Media Player. I noticed an annoying 4-6 second delay when playing MPEG-1 video files. The delay isn't constant, sometimes ranges from 1 sec to 7 seconds. Also pauses near the end of the MPEG file. Any have the same problem?

I've installed PDesk 5.25, Vidtools 1.51 and
running Win98.
