  • Problem while capturing with Rainbow Runner

    Hi guys!
    My system is:

    - AMD K6 III 450 Mhz
    - Motherboard Soyo 5EMA+ v 1.0
    - 64 MB RAM
    - HD with WIN98: 6,4MB UDMA33
    - 2 HDs 15GB UDMA33 for video capturing
    - Matrox Mystique 170
    - Rainbow Runner Studio
    - Sound Blaster AWE64

All the drivers, BIOS, patchs are the latest releases.

My probel is that when i try to capture a video (source: digital satellite receiver) at the 704x576 resolution (PAL) and maximum quality i lose lots of frames.
But the strange thing is HOW I lose those frames.I'll try to explain better.
    The 2 capture's HD works perfectly.Matrox's HD's benchmark give a 12.06 MB/sec result.
I lose frames only in certain conditions: for example, if while capturing i change channel in the sat receiver, while changing channel the screen goes black for a while (its the sat receiver).Well, in that second i lose 5-6 frames, but not every time, it seems to be a random problem.
If i capture some commercials, especially those with computer graphic, sometimes i lose about 50% of frames, then when the image tipe change (for example, no more computer graphics) the capture continues perfectly.
This big frame loss happens often in random (i think!) situations; for example yesterday i was capturing a Jennifer Lopez(!) interview, and i lost many many frames only when the camera was on her face,no frame loss during her videos.
If I decrease image quality i don't lose many frames; I lose some frames, but a very low percentage (1-2 of 1000).
But here's the strange thing. If I capture a video at the max quality and I DON'T capture audio, all works PERFECTLY!NO FRAME LOSS! 10 mins capture -> 0 frames dropped!!Absolutely perfect!

Can u explain me HOW can I solve this strange problem!
    Regards.
    Stefano
