I have the itch to do some analog video capture. I have a MGA G200 that works great and see no reason to ditch it. I was considering one of those WONDERful PCI based capture cards. The specs specify DirectX Overlay. Does the G200 supports that? I saw Hauppauge mentioned, but their web site seems a bit light on information.
All I want to do is make VCDs from a Sony HI8 camera. I'm looking for a capture card with hardware MPEG encoding, just becuase I think it is better(good picture/less data). Your opinions on that are welcome.
Any suggestions for an addtional PCI based capture only card that will work with my G200 under WinXP?
Any suggestions for a replacement AGP video card that can do it all(2D, 3D, capture). More than $200 and I'll be in the dog house.
