What AVI-DV joiner to use?

Dear all,

Could you please recommend on a small and fast piece of software which could be used in order to join a number of small AVI-DV files into one big AVI file?

I can, of course, use VS for this purpose but it seems to run a bit slaw on my old buddy (my laptop).

Does a joining process reduce quality?
