In PAL, matrox cards capture at 704x576.
Are these pixels square or the Rec. 601 digital video retangular (54/59 ratio) pixels? Or maybe some other non-standard ratio?
From the point of view of processing TV video I think it is more likely that they are 54/59 rectangular.
But doesn't this mean that if you do a frame grab to be displayed on a PC screen (which has square pixels) then your captured image will display slightly squashed horizontally? (Or in the case of NTSC whose rectangular pixel ratio is 11/10 will display slightly stretched horizontally.)
So it seems you can not capture a correctly proportioned still image as far as displaying on a PC screen is concerned. Is this correct?
