I wonder if this rings any bells with anyone...
I have a new Hauppauge WinTV theater. When I use the Hauppauge WinTV program, everything works fine, both for viewing and for capturing video. However, if I try to capture using either AVI_IO or VirtualDub, the audio becomes very muffled (reduced volume, very bass-heavy). I'm currently looping the audio through the WinTV card, into the internal AUX input on my Santa Cruz; I'd like to keep this arrangement if possible as it leaves the external line-in input free for other uses.
Anyone else have this problem (I think the WinTV/Santa Cruz comb is fairly common in this forum)?
