Hi, I`ve just come across a problem with my second dvdplayer, Toshiba SD-220e. It will read dvd-r films that have not been re-encoded but not ones that have been encoded to fit on one disc. My first player is an Afreey LD-2060 which does play the re-encoded discs.
My method of encoding is
1-dvd-decrypter
2- IfoEdit, to get rid of all the extras, menus etc, then if the size of the vob files is less than 4.5gb I use IfoEdit to create new vob files and ifo files.
3-burn with Nero.
If the vob files are larger than 4.5gb I use Dvd2avi and then Tmpgenc to re-encode at full dvd resolution but lower bitrate, then IfoEdit to author, then Nero.
The Afreey plays all discs but the Tosh only the ones not re-encoded, BTW all the discs are the same make so its not a disc compatability prob.
Also the Tosh will play xvcds vcds svcds xsvcds.
Is there something I`ve missed in the encoding process or is this a player problem?
TIA Cheers Disastermaster.
