Have You Seen My Mother?(Board)
Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard to do video capture.(see my post "Mega Matrox Machine" for the boring details)
Right now I have a G400 Marvel and a PIII 500 on a MS-6119 with a 20Gig and 30Gig Quantum Fireball LM HDs. I was thinking of getting a Microstar BXMaster for the UDMA66 capabilities.
I'm trying to explore my options, but the more I search, the more confusing it gets. i440BX, i810, K7, RAID, SCSI, dual processors... I find it all a little overwhelming so I was wondering if anyone out there could give me a brief summary of what types of mobo/CPU/HD setups are available and which ones are best for video capture. (or maybe you could recommend a web site that would explain it all for me)
Is there life beyond the BX chipset or is there still all sorts of bugs to be worked out?
