I have already asked half of these questions privately but I figured it would be an interesting thing to have in the archives.
Now that I finally have my dvd burner (Sony DRU-500AX), its time to start piecing together my wedding video.
Now where it gets ugly, during the ceremony and the reception we had two DV cams going, one is ours (an NTSC cam) and a friends cam (PAL).
As you can guess this leaves me with an interesting problem as for editing – ultimately I want to make the master in NTSC (that’s the cam that was pointing at the beautiful bride so have to keep full quality there )
So the question is, do I convert the PAL tapes to NTSC before editing or convert somehow while editing, - also what programs would be useful for the conversion etc.
I’m thinking I’ll have to crop each clip top/bottom as I want them.
Later when I make the PAL DVD I’ll just give it a small letterbox.
Of course if anyone has any better ideas, please let me know.
Thanks
Dan
