In the process of testing a Marvel G400 with the MSI 745 Ultra motherboard, I noticed something I didn't have a problem with on the old VIA chipset boards I'm used to coping with.
I can import video captured with either PCVCR or AVIIO demo (Matrox MJPG) into Premiere 6.0 and edit it okay, but several minutes into the editing the timeline performance tanks. Scrubbing slows to a crawl and it seems to take forever for screens to redraw.
I've edited the Prem60.ini file to add NoDirectShow=1, and all of the usual NLE system tweaks, to no avail.
The particulars:
AMB XP2000+
512 MB PC2100 RAM
30 GB Maxtor primary master
Pioneer DVD burner primary slave
80 GB Maxtor secondary master (video drive)
TBSC
Windows 98SE
PD 5.41 w/TurboGL
VT 1.52
DX 8.1
Am I forgetting anything?
Kevin
