RRG TV-tuner and SECAM D/K in Russia
I have Matrox RainBow Runner G-series (International version), connected to G-400 Max (System: Win98).
MotherBoard: ASUS P3B-F, latest BIOS (1006);
CPU: PentiumIII-800; 256 Mb memory;
Sound Card: Creative SB Live!.
Latest Special G400 Display driver and RRG VidTools (Both - May,2000). All works OK, except Matrox TV-tuner on RRG Board. The matter is that I am from Moscow, Russia. When I first run VidTool Setup, I had to choose Country, but I can not found Russia in the list of countries.
My TV-system is SECAM D/K (this TV-System also is used in all countries of formed Soviet Union, Poland, Romania, Chekoslavakia, Hungary, Bulgar, Congo, Zair, and so on, but there are no any of this countries in the list). Also it is called MESECAM D/K.
When I tried to choose FRANCE (SECAM_L), I tuned a few channels with bad picture and good sound. When I choose in PCRemoute a country like FINLAND (PAL B/G), I have got a good monochrom picture (which can be made exellent color by manually set "SECAM" in PCRemoute), but NO ANY SOUND. Else, I tried to use TVChannelScan.exe with vary countries and parameters (Band, sencitive tuning, etc.) - no effect: OR color picture with no sound, OR bad (Not viewable)picture with good sound. My TV cable, connected directly to my home TV give me more of 15 Russian channels with exellent color picture and very good sound. LINE IN of my Sound card of course turned on, all internal (two ribbon cables) end external connection are good, there are no any resourse comflicts in Win98 and So on (I am not a beginner).
Russian SECAM D/K default settings are:
Full TV signal Band - 8 Mhz,
Video Signal Band - 6 Mhz,
Video/Sound carriers difference (within full band) - 6.5 Mhz,
Modulation polarity - negative (-),
Modulation type: FM.
Frequence range: 40-800 Mhz.
In registry Matrox RRG subkey I can see parameters with "Country name=" and settins like PAL_BG_STD,BG_FM_NICAM; or SECAM_LFRA,L_AM_NICAM; and so on. But I can not see any settings like SECAM_DK_RUS,DK_FM_NICAM or analog.
When I create in registry Parmeter
Line "Russia=SECAM_DK_RUS,DK_FM_NICAM" whith range frequence subkey for Russia and then use TVChannelScan.exe (of course I choose "Russia" from list)with Band 8 Mhz, sensitive scanning, i have got all my russian channels with good color picture but very bad noise sound.
For RRG of NTSC or UK versions all clear: reception of russian channels is impossible (because of Phillips TV-tuner on such RRG boards use 4,5 and 5,5 Mhz middle frequence video and sound radio filters). But I have RRG International version; with it I can receive OR good color picture, Or good sound channels, but not together. May be RRG is not capable to receive SECAM D/K at ALL (Hardware restrictions) or new VidTools is required?
Can any help me? What can I do?
